Chinese Black TeaPosted on August 16, 2010. The why Chinese people do they call black tea " Hong cha" (red tea)? The different cultures do they see colors differently? My Chinese instructor said me that the tea color to her was red. She asked why does the British call a red tea (dear Hong) black. The it is red when tossed properly, I soppose il's called black because of the true color of the leaves of when dried tea and treated. Becouse red tea (vital, earthy) the thing, will not be seen as the colored substance, but first as the leaves, black? The Chinese sees the color it even as all the others, although their language is more specific with the definitions of different slopes of this than you would call 'red' No, the Chinese does not see colors differently. Chinese Je'm and I can see red, the black, pink one, you name it! I think the call the Chinese black tea " Hong cha" because they toss the tea leaves differently. (Hed, I mets't knows a lot of tea)! I mets't the literal pense's. The it was red before the leaves were dried. Not that they (the British and Chinese) sees colors differently, it must does with the reference system. Also, the British people probably referee to the difference between tea and to black teas with a milk place that turns a coffee color. As that Dave C said above, " red" refers itself to the drink color. There are 8 classes of Chinese, green, black, red tea, the white, yellow one. .., to the under of is a link with the photos for your reference.
